Jagua is a berry plant that is derived from the rainforests of Central and South America. They get that berry and they take out the juices from the berry and create a gel-like paste liquid from that berry. Essential oils are also added to the jagua. It can then be mixed with henna powder or used by itself and be applied to the skin. Unlike henna, jagua will last on the skin for about 2 to 3 weeks. It leaves a dark blue black color stain on to the skin.It is recommended that after applying jagua, you should let it dry on the skin. Once dried on the skin, it should be peeled off and the area should be washed with some soap and water. The color comes out within 48 hours. The juices of the jagua have been used for tattooing cultural purposes within the tribes who live within the South American rainforest. This is a perfect alternative to black henna which is a chemical henna that can burn the skin. The appearance and the look of the Jaguar juice on the skin makes it look as if someone has really gotten a real tattoo but without all the pain. It is advised that you do a test patch prior to applying Jaguar because some can be sensitive to this ingredient.
